Gareth Andrew

England

Intelligent, articulate, a fine athlete who bears a striking resemblance to Jude Law. Sounds annoying, doesn’t he? But Gaz is a pearl of a bloke. He also bowls in the mid-eighties, and has transformed his batting since signing to Mongoose in 2010 to become one of the most feared strikers of a ball in county cricket. In 2011 he has increased his batting average from a career 11, to over 30. But it is the manner of those runs that’s most impressive. Batting as low as 7 or 8, he uses his MMi3 in all formats of cricket to be a genuine game changer, capable of scoring at a remarkable rate (his maiden pro century was hit off 58 balls in a televised one day match at the Oval) but he has also dug Worcester out of a number of sticky situations with a more obdurate, cautious approach.

Number 3 player in MVP rankings for all professional cricket in 2011 (Trez is 1), he is the real thing.
