All bats wear with use. Even Mongoose bats. Our cricket bats are handcrafted from natural materials and, as a result, are expected to deteriorate during usage.

Some batsmen happily replace a bat whenever they feel like a new one. Others hold on to their old favourites through thick and thin, nurturing and repairing them to keep the bat going as long as possible.

But a cracked blade can undermine performance of the bat, and so we’d recommend that you professionally service it through Mongoose. A professional refurbish gives two main benefits:

Maintain blade responsiveness and striking power.

Extend the playing lifespan of the bat.

Repair work to seal blade cracks, re-fit or replace handles as well as blade cleaning, conditioning and re-labelling (with protective cover applied as needed) can be undertaken effectively in many cases.

Refurbishment will give the bat a thorough MOT for the new season: sealing cracks, sanding, oiling, conditioning, re-labelling and regripping.

Repairs and refurbishment costs vary from £15 up to £75 (inclusive of postage and VAT).
